Nonna Agnes Blue Bean

Nonna Agnes – An enchanting heirloom climbing bean from the Italian village of San Bernardo. Its seeds shimmer in shades of dark beige, bluish‑grey, turquoise, and cobalt — each harvest unique, as colour shifts with temperature. Cool weather brings deep blues; warm sun yields soft grey‑blues — true magic beans.

This rare pole bean produces magnificent pink flowers and abundant yields in about 110 days. Beans can be enjoyed fresh as green beans, dried for storage, or frozen with excellent results. Their ornamental beauty and rich heritage make them a standout in any garden.

Growing:
Sow outdoors once frost risk has passed, spacing 15–20 cm apart. Provide sturdy support — trellis, fence, or frame — for vigorous climbing growth. Suited to full sun and Tasmanian summers.
