Early Lockyer

Early Lockyer is a classic Australian white onion known for its quick maturity, smooth pale skins, and reliable performance in cool climates. It produces medium‑sized, round bulbs with a mild, sweet flavour perfect for fresh use, cooking, and salads.

This variety is well‑suited to Tasmanian conditions, forming bulbs early and evenly. Plants have upright tops and tidy necks, helping bulbs cure cleanly. While not a long‑storage onion like brown types, Early Lockyer keeps well for a white onion and is excellent for everyday kitchen use.

A great choice if you want a fast, mild, pale onion that finishes early in the season. Seeds are raw and untreated

Companion Planting
• Good Neighbours: Carrot, Beetroot, Brassicas, Lettuce, Chamomile, Tomato, Parsley.  Onions help repel/deter pests. Also radish, silverbeet and spinach
• Bad Neighbours: Beans (inhibit growth), Peas, Sage, Asparagus, Items also from Onion family (can attract pests)
